Pros

The discount is decent, when applicable. Benefits & 401k were a perk. Good for a second part-time job for extra cash.

Cons

This company is stuck in 2002. It's apparent the brand is struggling, and store "leadership" is nothing more than glorified sales associates. There are constantly "coaching moments" that can easily be avoided if employees are trained properly from the beginning. SPAH is a joke and nearly impossible to attain. As a member of management, I had little time to actually manage the business or train associates because selling was our main priority for whatever reason. A typical day consisted of arriving at 9 am, processing shipment in & having to stay in the back with the driver due to LP issues (provided the driver came as scheduled), counting registers, checking email, recording chat ins, all before the opening at 10 am. Due to substantial payroll cuts, I would be the only person in the building at times until my next associate arrived at 11 & may have had to close the building myself. Any member of leadership who has worked here knows exactly what I mean. Turnover, managerial more so than associate, is ridiculous; my store could never keep a GM and it made sense why. I've worked for a few retailers and this is by far the worst on the list.

Pros

Salary, Solid company, bonus structure (no cap, monthly pay-out, usually made 80% of them), elite leadership team is amazing, you have to be highly accountable and work well under the pressure of high traffic/minimal payroll. Work/life balance is fantastic for retail 40 hours / week If you are a strong leader and build a solid team.

Cons

Payroll for lower volume stores, SPAH

SM over paid sales associate

Pros

Salary and benefits are good. Lots of free products.

Cons

Not much managing. More of being an over paid sales associate. Store Managers shouldn't have to work a minimum of 32 hours selling. They hire you to manage and should let you run a 4 million dollar store.
