There is little to no understanding of the sattelite operations outside of the laboratories. The job security advertised when I arrived no longer exists. People are let go as soon as their contracts end. There is little support and communication from local Northern Virginia management and they will no longer help find you ways to grow and diversify your workload. Very little communication between units making it impossible for lateral transfers. I was very interested in Battelle's operations with the Department of Energy but I had to apply to DOE position as if I was an outsider.
