      Great place for junior technical staff; not so great once you have experience

      Pros

      Very interesting work with lots of diversity in technical content. Very collaborative and engaged technical staff population. Very good laboratory science company focused in infectious disease, chemistry, and advanced materials; targeted investment projects in these areas get all the internal investment. Struggles with information/data work due to high rates for type of work.

      Cons

      Leadership expects an exceedingly high level of productivity from technical staff at all levels to cover high overhead expenses. Company is struggling for modern digital capabilities due to large technical debt from lack of discipline within corporate information technology. Senior leadership is a tight knit group running the business that holds itself separate from rank and file staff.

      Diversity of work Locations around the country 9/80 + flexible work schedule Opportunities for self-directed research and development (IR&D)

      Cons

      Lower-level management is overworked and doesn't have time for most of their direct reports "Fake" comparison data for compensation /benefits package Too many career/job roles makes balancing the organization's pay structure impractical Cyber jobs are overworked/overburdened with little respect from local management Unless you have advanced degrees your career upward mobility is capped Bogus overtime structure

      Flexible work hours, although I’m sure they will figure out how to take that.

      Cons

      You are responsible for finding your own project work. Managers have too many employees. No career development. No work/life balance.
