      Pros

      Challenging and interesting work. Direct impact on clients. Good working relationships among staff. Lots of opportunities to be involved in multiple projects and keep advancing professionally. Lots of opportunities to be engaged and active with the company. Good opportunities to be entrepreneurial: learn many aspects of the business and play many roles.

      Cons

      Workload tends to be very high and can be wearing. Culture and experience vary significantly from group to group. Persistent disconnect between executive level efforts and the experience of most employees. Little opportunity for guidance around career development; everyone is on their own.

      Pros

      Battellle has some of the best R&D staff in the world. When all of the parts of Battelle are hitting on all cylinders, it is an amazing place. Great challenges, smart people, the right tools, real purpose.

      Cons

      Battelle can be bureaucratic and there are content time work pressures. When the managers are good, they see the big picture and advocate beyond the short-term.
