Terrible Place to Work

Pros

There are essentially no pros to working at Tripps, besides a few nice coworkers.

Cons

I've experienced many of the same things as the other reviewer/former employee: -Less than minimum wage as a host. I averaged about $5-6 an hour WITH tips and they claimed it all averaged out while it definitely did not. -Terrible scheduling, did not post schedule until days before it started. Did not respect requests off either. -No idea when they'd cut you, they'd say "about 3pm" and make you stay until 7pm, etc. -They'd also cut you after a 2 hour shifts meaning you planned your whole day around it and only made $10. -Experienced a stress fracture and was told I wasn't allowed to wear my air boot because it was not "uniform". Had to work an 11 hour shift on a broken foot without a break -Routinely worked 7-11 hour shifts without a break for food or even to sit down. When I was allowed to eat I was offered very low discount on their expensive for (a meal was more than an hour's wages) -They also mysteriously "lost" my tip out from the last day I worked, claimed that I must have taken it already -Terrible sanitation practices (Do not eat the bread! Those boards are not properly cleaned!) -Expect you to constantly be working even if it's 3pm on a Thursday (read: dead) -Coworkers were dramatic, petty, and would trick you into taking shifts -Manager was petty, micromanaged the hosts, and created an atmosphere of stress. There was one nice manager who rarely was working at the New Garden location. -Hired way too many hosts and you had to split a very small host tip out among 3-5 people (working in the afternoon? $2 tip out. At night? Woo! $12! You've almost averaged min. wage!) -Constantly changing the uniform and making me spend my own money on new, nice clothing. -Hosts would do the servers jobs for them but be paid a fraction of what they were.

Pros

The management was friendly. The menu you was easy. The coworkers were pleasant for the most part.

Cons

Super old restaurant with even older clientele. Expect a lot of lemon waters and split meals with 10% tips. The restaurant is pretty outdated and unstylish, so they are not often busy. The few times it does get busy they are understaffed and it is disastrous.

Pros

Free food. Guest are awesome muffins on Sunday's

Cons

Whites are allowed to workout there two weeks but blacks are not. Telling me I'm not fired but I can not work my two weeks. Every other person that were white were allowed. Blacks aren't allowed to bartend either. Managers are like a click! The GM runs around gossiping and spreading lies to other employees do they all hate each other. Will have a meeting with employee than run to the 17 year old hostess and tell them everything. Highly unprofessional ! Wrote my review on FB the removed it. Also roach infested
