      the pay and benefits are competitive. they value several things that are pretty meaningless - like how neat you get your desk - so it is easy to get a decent review.

      way too political, people promoted based on years experience and not competence

      Pros

      Good pay, benefits, nice people. The campus in Round Lake is very large and easy to get lost in. I only left because I moved.

      Cons

      Public corporation, so profits come first. Some struggles between directors for budgets and resources. Some people move really slow. Not much to complain about.

      Pros

      If you want to gain outstanding experience with medical devices and the FDA regulation then Baxter is the place to work. Pay is good. Benefits are competitive. Perks are good. They have one of the finest travel reimbursement systems that I have used.

      Cons

      Be prepared for tough politics, long hours, and intense over burdening processes. The quality system is presently ultra conservative - your work will be heavily criticized. There are many more people criticizing the work than doing the work. You will be challenged to please everyone. The company is top heavy. If you plan to be in a role that delivers a regulated item then you better have tough skin.
