Pros

Baxter is huge company. If you're in the Medical Device industry, this is one of the best places to work for. Great working atmosphere, good team-spirit, work-life balance and lots of opportunities to enhance your career. Individual rewards and credits provide employee boost to perform better. Frequent team outings, cub game passes and luncheon coupons make it a very attractive place to work for.

Cons

Baxter pays low salaries to its employees below the management level. Most of the credit is taken away by the managers except your manager exceptionally generous. Getting up the ladder could get tough depending your manager. Lot of competition. Have to be really good.

Pros

The good thing about Baxter is that it's a multi-national company, where you may get career opportunities. The good working environment helps employees have an urge to work and produce. Also, the good health insurance package and stock purchase plan is a pro for Baxter. Finally, the good working hours are rare nowadays, so it's an advantage for Baxter employees.

Cons

The very low salaries of employees in contrast with the Managers' earnings creates a bad atmosphere of unfairness. Low-paid employees get no recognition, while their supervisors get all the credit for their work. Also, the unfair promotions to people who don't really work or deserve it makes employees unwilling to try harder.

Pros

Flexibility and laid back atmosphere. Baxter is also focused on helping patients which makes it a very rewarding place to work. Round Lake location is somewhat hard to get to if you live in the city of Chicago, however there are plenty of subdivisions if you would like to live closer to work. Although there has been new construction in the area, the offices are still in the middle of nowhere for all practical purposes.

Cons

FDA regulations make it painfully boring at times. Attention to detail is an absolute must, and discovering a root cause for every problem is mandatory.
