Stable Employment, Less than Market Wages

Pros

Preface: I am not a clinical (doctor, nurse) employee, so my experience with the company may vary from someone who works in clinical settings with patients. BayCare is a great place to work if you're looking for a stable and simple workplace environment. The tasks remain the same from day to day, year to year. Management is not aggressive with change which, again, if you're looking for stability, this is good for you.

Cons

As a "not-for-profit" company, BayCare pays less for non-clinical (data/financial/business analysts, etc) than other companies. Annual bonuses are meager ($300-500 max per year) and annual performance pay raises are capped at 3% max (meaning you can get less if your manager deems it appropriate). Company does not "develop" talent and the options for training and increasing your skills are limited to Microsoft Office Suite programs. BayCare is not known for focusing on promoting/hiring from within. Hiring managers will give as much opportunity to outside applicants as they will internal. To me, this is a con as I know many people want advancement and there should be some level of advantage given to internal candidates.

Pros

Pay is comparable, several locations in different cities to work, yearly bonuses and about Four weeks paid time off per year

Cons

The commute is too far for me, they do not hire enough employees to efficiently run a clinic and do not like to authorize overtime
