Pros

Great for gaining more lab experience especially if and when they let you cross train Overtime is a pro but also a con because they will abuse the fact that you’re willing to come in extra or stay longer Off most holidays unless they need volunteers

Cons

Poor management- a lot of micromanaging Short staffed Very gossipy and cliquey

Poor Management, Untrustworthy

Pros

Flexible hours. Predictable workloads. Straight forward tasks, easy to pick up and master in <1 month. Some amazing colleagues/friends.

Cons

Management in any lab tech-related department is poor. Low pay compared to similar companies. Deplorable/dirty working conditions, power outages are too frequent for a lab. Additional workload requirements W/O rational compensation. High turn-over rate, it's a revolving door of new people coming in then out in less than a year.
