Pros

Very nice coworkers. Generally people are willing to cover and help out others. 401k used to be good, but they froze the contribution since pandemic started. Who knows they will ever give it back?

Cons

Lab staffs are overworked constantly, and company refuses to replace people who left. Our department used to have 8 staffs and now down to 3, doing about the same volume of work before covid. The company still refuses to hire more people, or wait until current staffs are so busy, having no time for training. The company only care about how to make more money out of the current employee. If your instrument breaks down and you have a spare one, sorry it doesn't get fixed. Everyone has to wait in line to use it. If your department doesn't make money. Sorry that you have the old model instrument which breaks down all the time, but other department can get a brand new machine. If you are sick and need to stay at home for 14 days? You need to use your PTO, and sorry if your PTO doesn't have that many hours to cover. You will just have to get over it without paid. Very ironically they said that our health is their top priority when they don't even bother to replace disinfectant products in the common area when it's gone. I hope the upper management people can see lots people leaving as a sign, but I think they don't care. We were treated as a disposable worker.
