Pros

I was given decent equipment. The training for corporate goals was innovative. The President communicated well. They did have very good coffee in the break room. Most of the employees in the Troy location were friendly.

Cons

First, they hired the wrong person for the job. I am a senior database developer with no experience with C#. I was there around 2 months and was only give one small assignment that I was qualified to accomplish. Mostly they had me upgrading a terrible old C# windows application. I stressed several times that I was uncomfortable with the project, but they did nothing. They did have a decent C# developer on the team that was working on SQL work, and was struggling with it. On my start date they did not have a desk for me. They ended up moving me a few times before I was moved to a desk in a hallway with two people from accounting. Several time I attempted to complete work on a project, only to find that the same work had been created on 2 tickets for separate departments. Also, my supervisor was very strange. He had an odd management style that was not conductive to a professional environment. Parking was a nightmare, if you left for lunch you would have to park next door or across the street.

Pros

The culture is often a reason why people stay. The organizational structure is very flat for a growing company with great people in great location. The culture is highly relational with approachable management and open communication.

Cons

Training for new hires is one of Beeline's greatest challenges due to it's fast growth. If you are not an assertive person when trying to learn from others and internalize the processes, the first several months may be very difficult.

Pros

Very little hierarchy behavior . . . if you need information, you can go to anyone for answers . . . not 'level' conscious. Benefits are good . . . hours are flexible, dress is casual, workspace is pleasant, generally it has a 'family' atmosphere. Company is growing; this is good. Interested in process improvement . . . working to banish 'we've always done it that way' understanding as new people come in, they bring new ideas.

Cons

Would like to have more holidays. . . we just have the basic ones . . . Christmas Eve would be nice!! New employee orientation is the worst I've experienced. You are left to find out lots of things (how to use the phone, which 'help' desk number to use, for example) on your own. Quick growth is great; however, communication is not always clear or current. Recruiting/interviewing follow-up is non-existent; candidates are left 'hanging' for weeks with no word.
