The compensation is ridiculous. I was doing the workload of the position higher than mine since I was hired but was being paid even under for the role I was in. I fought for a promotion for years, yes years, and finally received it with a lousy 20% increase that didn't even equal the average of my old role. The raises don't really occur and the entire OTI plan is ridiculous. Bentley management decides to change how OTI is depending on how they feel that year without telling anyone so we can work towards those goals, so it's a target that you'll never achieve.

The comp plan is confusing and totally bizarre. Senior management can be inept at times and rather than replace the bad people, they just keep adding worse people. The sales compensation can be great sometimes, but that is usually followed by a huge overcorrection the following year. I would not suggest that a salesperson does not join Bentley, but would just tell them to go in eyes wide open and know that you will be totally frustrated in a few months (again, you can make a lot of money sometimes, but not all the time)
