Pros

The student population is extremely talented, and that makes teaching here rewarding in so many ways. Just not financially.

Cons

Berklee consists of two merged institutions: Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. The faculty at Boston Conservatory are paid less, and have worse working conditions.

Restrictive, cumbersome bureaucracy. Budget constraints. Top heavy. Massive egos at the top.

It is nice to work all the time in the studios. To train the ability of sight reading and work with all the composers as a player has been amazing.

Cons

The long hours but low pay.
