Pros

The discount is amazing. Items can be purchased at the wholesale cost + 5%. A lot of items can come out to be 30-50% off. The work environment is somewhat organized which works out okay compared to a small store, which can be very unorganized. The staff is fun to work with (not including supervisors and managers).

Cons

I am scheduled to do plenty of close-open shifts that have less than 8 hours between shifts. The pay is way to low for the amount of responsibility given. Management could care less about your personal life and will deny all time requests off and availability changes. The job is not commission based. Sales begin to lose meaning to lower employees.

Pros

Employee Discount. Other than that, there's not much to write home about.

Cons

No regularity or schedule consistency. Be prepared to sacrifice nights, weekends, holidays. (as with any retail job). Career Growth and advancement depends heavily on present store management. My advice is to discuss your career with store leadership and evaluate the feedback you receive. If they are receptive, encouraging and supportive, then I strongly suggest you pursue those ambitions as opportunities do exist for those with desire & have a welcoming store leadership. If your career plans are not well received, do not waste your time. Being an hourly employee, you are very disposable and can be easily replaced.

Pros

Through it's talent management and leadership development platforms, the company does a good job at helping employees connect with what is truely their core strengths, talents and passions. Even though we have day to day work, the chance to get involved and add value to critical strategies that drive our growth is all around you. For those who are entrepreuers and like the freedom to seek out compelling work activities, it is a great place to work. For those who want clear direction and step by step process to do their work, it is not for you.

Cons

Best Buy is a very politically charged environment. I am sure that the freedom to express opinions and the desire to have everyone involved creates this environment.
