Pros

Great discount and some really good people to work with. When you do get a really good manager, it makes for a great and fun place to work.

Cons

Most of the store management has not a clue or people skills at all. Unless you are a member of the "Boys" club, you don't get anywhere. Total lack of disrespect for most employees at a line level. Just shove those accessories and service plans down the customer's throats. The dollar is more valuable than customer service. There are days when you pull into the lot and see a managers vehicle and it makes you want to turn around and go back home. When managers are getting ripped because the store(s) might not be doing well, this sets the tone for the employees. I think to be a manager at Best Buy, you better learn to drink the coolaid as in the Jim Jones special

Pros

There is an energy level at Best Buy that I've never experienced before. This place moves fast. Real fast. If you like a fast-paced, frenetic company, Best Buy is for you. It's also an unparalled leader in its space and has the capacity to define the CE world. Working at Best Buy matters. Brad Anderson (CEO) and Brian Dunn (President) are respectable guys who truly care about employees. Some of the director and VP-level leadership is suspect, but the people at the top know what they are doing and have good hearts. Oh, and the employee discount rocks.

Cons

Retail. director and VP-level leadership is suspect. The joke within Best Buy is that we have a 10-year-stategy and a 10-week patience. Be prepared to deal with change and if you don't like change, don't work here.

Pros

Typically you will see very forward thinking people. It is an outside the box company... Every time I have ever had an issue, I have had a VERY unique response to it that both solved the issue and helped me remember what I had to do to get the answer that I needed.

Cons

You CANNOT be a full time worker and expect to have much of a social life, or go to school. They are very strict about hours, and ratios of opens to closes, and open shifts of weekends.
