Pros

Great team & culture worldwide

Cons

Frustrating product roadmap - slow to prioritise, even slower to build & just playing catchup with competitors.

Pros

I’ve met some amazing people during my time at BigCommerce. There once was a company spirit that has declined so much during the pandemic and after IPO. I appreciate the remote work, coworkers, and believe in the product but the cons are starting to outweigh the pros.

Cons

Since 2020 culture, employee respect, and keeping up with increasing cost of living has plummeted. Internal processes are a literal joke like scotch tape on a house of cards in a hurricane. Internal learning and development is lacking any structure and somehow you are expected to take charge of who, what, when but not during your work hours. eCommerce in general has SO many moving parts, partners, technological advances and it feels like we are expected to know and keep up with an exponential amount of change even outside of our product. Instead of lining the pockets of executives and board members they need to invest more into tools to fully support their employees to do their best at their day to day tasks. So much lives in Google sheets, over here, over there and when you need answers you get the runaround and waste so much quality work time on senseless rabbit holes. Take a peek on Linked In and you will notice many are taking advantage of the ‘great resignation’ to be paid so much more in less chaotic companies.

Pros

With the team being so small, everything works closely together and gets along very well. Also, providing many opportunities to learn new skills in different fields of marketing.

Cons

With such a small team, it can be easy to be given too many tasks at once which is hard to keep up with. This can inevitably disappoint other teams, such as sales, even though there isn't much that can be done due to a lack of increase in headcount.
