Upper management continues to make decisions that hamstring the science (ex. letting CRISPR license expire while developing gene editing technology, wants to expand into C> but lays off C> team), layoffs two years in a row in December, <50% trust in upper management in company survey, shareholders rejected the outrageous executive compensation plan so hard it ended up in the Star Tribune (Nov 1 2023)

Layoffs occur every year before Christmas and executives feel perfectly comfortably lying through their teeth. Big claims are always made about how important their employees are to the company and then in the next breath they lay off hundreds. They’re happy to throw money around at the executive level, millions in bonuses and raises while the rest of us get left behind.
