      a team of great people, but lack of career development opportunities

      Pros

      The people at Bio-techne are all very nice and easy to work with, creating a positive and supportive work environment. The products in the portfolio are also great with many brilliant applications, which makes selling them really rewarding.

      Cons

      There is a lack of clear progression path when you enter this company at a junior level. Therefore people often leave after a few years when they feel ready to progress to the next stage of their career. There is also a lack of recognition of existing talent within the company, and highly qualified people are often overlooked. Business operations are prioritised over employee retention.

      Pros

      Good team and nice people to work with. Open to ideas and self-initiatives. Overall a fair employer who cares about the employees and their well-being. There are nice benefits in place as well.

      Cons

      Almost no opportunities for promotions. Many processes are outdated and not optimal, changes are needed. Senior management doesn`t always show a clear strategy.

      Great for a straight white male, okay with limited resources and high expectations

      Pros

      - The actual business' employees who are the main feet on the ground are great colleagues working toward the success of the company. - Due to the lack of resources and set job descriptions you are given a great deal of responsibility and can learn new skills - Fast paced and have an intense set up for strategic planning

      Cons

      - Divisional Management is a mess. Provide no resources or basic understanding of the business' units and and do not empower workers and low level managers for success. Limited resources with high expectations. - The top down leadership is dominated by straight white men and that passes down to much of the management team. Often times providing an environment based on toxic masculinity that does not welcome minorities - The corporate team is disconnected with businesses and often times just makes it confusing, complicated and difficult to complete tasks. - Vacation time and holidays are VERY reduced compared to previous plans - It is of course a profit and revenue focused place as a public company but more so then others I have worked at.
