      Pros

      Biogen Idec is a pretty laid back company. There is a lot of freedom, and the employees are nice and willing to help each other.

      Cons

      Not too many downsides that I experienced. Only problem is that the company hasn't been doing too well is the recent past.

      As an intern, everyone is very supportive and helpful in getting you started. I learned a lot at the internship.

      Cons

      Big company = lots of bureaucracy. Everyone specializes in their own thing, so there is less of an opportunity to do something that spans different specialties

      Learning a tremendous amount for use in the industry career Many resources to learn state of the art biotech Excellent benefits - including THE BEST tuition reimbursement in the industry A place where people can spend their entire career

      Tough to advance in one's career - too many very talented people and too few promotions Very tough for average performers to do well.
