Pros

Massive exposure to positions world wide and once you are inside it can be a great place to make your home and obtain your "gold watch". In some cases you can really be appreciated with regard to compensation if you are able to specialize and seperate yourself from the pack.

Cons

If you don't like the corporate culture investment foundation of this firm then stick with individual "boutiques". Big bank atmosphere allows certain personalities to thrive. Overall, this is not a bad place to work. Benefits and salaries are more structured and limited due to the larger "I.B." culture (remember this is still BofA even though people pretend it is not!!)

Pros

BlackRock seems to value its people on a personal level, with management showing flexibility around day to day schedules so long as necessary work is done well

Cons

Sometimes the pathway to promotion is not clear, and it seems that people at the same title can be paid very differently.

Pros

- Decent pay (for interns; from what I saw, salaries for new analysts are pretty much at market) - Nice perks - Great location - Good name for resume building

Cons

- Very stressful environment - Unsupportive management (see the first point) - Very hard to pick up anything on your own (not a good idea to join outside of "intern season") - Equally difficult to make a discernable difference as an intern. - Old technologies (including the software being sold) - In-house solutions for everyday general software (IM, application management, etc) pale in comparison to market-proven technologies.
