Pros

I enjoy my job because of the people i work with. We all work hard, take price in our work and want the company to succeed.

Cons

Employees in departments that don't bring in clients/accounts are not appreciated. We haven't been receiving raises, and our bonuses have been going down. My dept is expected to do more with less personnel than 2 years ago, but we're being paid less. I'm tired of hearing that I should "just be happy to have a job". I suspect that the money the company is saving by cutting my co-workers is going to the fat cats at the top.

Pros

-Hard working smart people at the ground level -Comradery with teammates strong. Feel like most people have one another's backs -Great place to learn in first year or two after school. But then learning curve dramatically decreases. - Client service driven. Ethical. -Nice well kept building

Cons

-No raises in 3 years even though company is growing and in solid financial shape. When you break out comp by total hours worked, its a sad number. -Bonuses and retirement contributions cut despite everyone working longer and longer hours. "More with less, more with less" is the mantra. People getting cynical. -Can't even get replacement jobs approved. Aggressively adding more accounts without enough people to support the business. Late nights and weekends expected from everyone with increasing pressure to put in even more hours. Very stressful to balance personal and work life. Some of the teams have kids coming in at 6:30 am, work 12-15 hours and mandatory weekend work too.

Pros

the Pay...that is really it now a days....

Cons

Work life balance is a joke at the new post merger BlackRock...and it's getting worse... Do more with less and do it longer and do it on the weekend...don't think smart...just work hard and for many hours... The new post merger BlackRock basically is consumed by politics, cost cutting and the bottom line at the expense of technology and people. they basically do not want their IT staff to be smart and work smart...they want you in the office...60 hours a week...waiting for something to happen.
