Pros

Great colleagues. Good work culture. Good benefits.

Cons

Can be quite political. The San Francisco office can be very inconsiderate about laying off people whom they brought over from the East Coast (along with their families and children in schools). If you are in finance on the East coast, don't move to SF for a job in BlackRock.

Pros

Very good place to work depending on the group. They focus on technology and improving the status quo. Big push for diversity and inclusion in recent years. They've added some perks to attract millenials like flexible time off, innovation (game) rooms and ping pong tables. The only constant is change.

Cons

Change for the sake of change is not necessarily a good thing. Changes in organizational structures are not always fully planned out leaving employees wondering if their jobs are in jeopardy. Upper management's push for everyone to have a rising tide lifts all boats mentality gets lost on the masses as it is a very cutthroat, every man for himself culture.

Thank for your thoughtful review. We strive to create an inclusive and innovative environment in which our colleagues can grow their careers. We value inclusion and diversity and believe that the contributions of a diverse team foster innovation and strong leadership. With that, we will also take note of your comment around the lack of clarity in our organizational structures and our communications around such strategic initiatives. We and appreciate your feedback.
