Pros

Checks didn't bounce. Occasional free food. Free coffee.

Cons

Management as a group clearly doesn't care about its people or customers. Management is far more interested in internal infighting. This is a technology company without a CTO. That notwithstanding, a good bulk of the solutions are not on par with late 20th century or 21 st century standards. There is no coherent vision for the product offerings for the future. A culture of inefficiency, political games, or incompetence amongst management.

Pros

The mission of the company to serve non-profits makes it feel like you are doing something for the greater good. For the most part, people are nice and there are fun activities from time to time. Location at the Domain is convenient to major access roads and there are many options for grabbing lunch or drinks after work. PTO policy is good.

Cons

There has been a big shift in Engineering since the leadership changed near the end of 2013. More directors were brought in throughout 2014 and the micromanagement came on heavy. Command and control is the mode of operation. Engineers hours are watched and scrutinized rather than the outcome and value of what they are producing. The great vision of leadership is to make sure engineers time adds up to 90% of their available capacity. If you do that (and produce nothing of substance or value) you're ok. Don't expect promotions either. They have become stingier and stingier with those over the past year or so. Again, engineering leadership doesn't know how to motivate and retain engineers. It's no wonder the good ones are leaving. In general, compensation is much lower than other software companies in Austin.

Pros

Nice people Short Commute Nice gym Hopeful the New CEO can turn things on its head and clear half of the heavy, useless Sr Mgmt structure

Cons

Don't worry about doing your work. Others will do it for you. Mgmt is a joke; they do not exist Salaries are abyssmal compared to other companies. Many times managers earn the same as their staff or sometimes less Company thinks they are cutting edge but in reality it takes 4 months to get a project approved only to be stopped 6 more times. Resourcing is an issue in this company There is no career path whatsoever. You join, you never evolve, they don't know what to do with you or their departments
