Pros

This is a good place to get your feet wet if you're fresh out of college or in your entry-level positions of your career. Just keep in mind that this isn't a good representation of a "real" company. Please see the cons for further info. There are some people who work here trying to keep morale up and they deserve better

Cons

Where do I begin: - going to be paid 30K less than the market average rate - Everyone under management is a contractor working part-time so it takes forever to get tasks done - not enough manpower for the goals to be reached (too cheap to staff properly) - Because the pay is so low the talent is very limited, many young unexperienced people work here thus making project deliverables slower, the work not very good, and a lot of hand holding - CEO has her favorites and they will hire brilliant creatives to just clip their wings, not trust or communicate with them and then gaslight them into saying they aren't doing a good job or aligned - many new initiatives are really experiments without the transparency of saying that to employees, i.e., they have no idea what they are doing and just winging it but will never admit that they are "trying" out something - huge conflict of interest relationships going on in upper management - the company is very small and yet the culture is still very secretive... people get laid off or leave all the time and there will be no announcement you'll just wake up one day and their slack will be deactivated - many useless untalented and unprofessional employees who are grandfathered in still work here and are not pleasant to work with - absolute shameful how they treat their Black employees in conflict being that this company was founded on the purpose to UPLIFT the Black community, and now many of the management hires have been non-POC/white people - frugal and very cheap, no real investment in individual growth for employees overall the energy is: "how do we get the best work for the cheapest price"

Pros

It's one of the first places I've worked at where the employees really like each other. The culture is so unique that it allows people to actually show up as their authentic selves, which is powerful

Cons

When you move into a leadership position in this organization, you get paid fairly, but that money just ends up going to a therapist because you're trying to figure out how to survive the workload. The goals that are set by Sr. Leadership are unreasonable because there aren't enough people resources to support the goal. So inevitably, you just end up burning out fast. Additionally, Sr. Leadership doesn't trust their employees or know how to manage conflict. Rather than exploring the root cause of issues, there is a fear that the conflict between employees will breakdown the company. So instead of help employees navigate through their disagreements so they can effectively collaborate, Sr. Leadership just ends up pushing out their least favorite employee so they don't have to deal with it.
