Pros

Really enjoyed feeling like I made a difference helping people in need. Also, seeing other community outreaches helping people with drug addiction or mental illness. Very rewarding if you enjoy trying to make a difference in other people's lives and caring about each individual.

Cons

Very, very, very little pay for cleaning 8 hours of hazardous material like heroin needles, Fentanyl, human fecal matter, urine, vomit, watching people OD, seeing people's bodies literally decay from too much drug use, working in areas that have more RV's and Pitch A Tents than KOA camping, seeing American vets in now destitute situations, people in wheelchairs with missing body limbs, cleaning areas where people sleep with bed bugs, fleas and rodents; just to mention a few. However the most disgusting experience that you will have to accept to work here is employees selling drugs to the infirm homeless. Yes, there is so much work to do BUT if you have a side hustle going on, you can make a enormous amounts of money and worth the extra effort! This IS a prerequisite to work here and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Let's be real, the amount of hazardous work you have to deal with and with little pay!? CMON!

(Yes, it is horrible to see how drug issues can affect an entire community. As well, it is a very nasty job. We make that clear in our ads as well as the job description signed at the time of hire and additionally at our very extensive training. I'm sorry that you didn't understand what Ambassadors do.) (I am sorry. I have never heard of a manager allowing drug deals to occur. In fact in my six years in my roll, I've only heard of this one time and that was years ago and in a different city. Please contact the HR Hotline and report what you've put on this platform. Also, although I thank you for your review, I'd just like to say that we have 2500 Ambassadors that work for BBB. Most, seriously would show up whether we paid them or not. They are doing this job as a true Ambassador, someone that loves people and their community. I'm sorry that you had a poor experience and really want you to report to HR Hotline. (The poster is displayed by your timeclock at all times.) Please, call. It's not to late. We value our employees and want to insure that we are providing a great place for everyone to work. (866) 343-3132.

Pros

Get paid helping your city.

Cons

Poor pay. Management blames understaffing on employees accepting company health insurance. Use you up physically and then dump you. Almost no opportunity for advancement.

I am confused about your post. We promote from within whenever possible and have a specific program "Leadership Identification Program" that is designed for those that wish to make BBB their forever job. Also confused about the comment about health insurance. Either way, I am sorry that your experience was a negative one. Wish you well in the future!

Pros

Weekly pay (Every Tuesday) is about the only benefit of the job. Though work hours logged often do not match what is received on the paycheck. Very sketchy practice, but as an employee you are put on “notice” if you ever bring this concern to the attention of management.

Cons

Far too many cons to count. Office moral is nonexistent. Toxic work environment. Lots of favoritism regarding work schedule preference. Consistent satisfactory performance gets you no where. Most people don’t even show up for their scheduled shifts, but anyone that management likes will never be called out for call-outs or tardiness. High employee turnover rate. Every non-management employee is miserable. Please stop telling nonexempt (hourly) employees that management makes over $80K per year to basically do nothing. As an employee, you must be comfortable dealing with urine, feces, vomit and other bodily fluids while just trying to get through the shift. Would not recommend this company as an employer even to my worst enemy.
