Pros

A lot of chiefs who change the strategic plan with the wind. A culture that you've never done enough.

Cons

Important mission to support blood cancer patients and their families and life saving research. Work from home.

Pros

There’s a lot of flexibility in hours. Remote work.

Cons

SVOY Managers beware. The organization expects you to ingrain yourself into the families of 50+ constituents. Going into people’s homes, texting them daily, meeting with them weekly and expecting volunteers to fundraise like it’s their full time job. It really feels like you are a used car salesman. The worst is that they don’t provide work phones so you are texting HUNDREDS of constituents on your personal line (including minors). Unorganized mess. Your job is dependent on if high school students can secure $100k+ donations in 7 weeks. If they can’t it’s on YOU for not building a strong enough relationship. So micromanagy. Truly feels like a for profit environment because you are so distant from the mission. The stress isn’t worth the mediocre pay.

Pros

It is an organization that stands behind its mission. Remote work, flexible schedules.

Cons

Career development is hyped, but promotions are scarce. Promotions are more frequent in some departments than others. Too many silos.
