Pros

cutting edge engineering work, everyone is very smart & excited about their contributions, everyone wants the company to succeed, management is very clear on their goals for each team

Cons

since bloom energy is still a smaller company that has yet to go public, the compensation is a bit low, but you do get to work on very exciting projects and there's a huge possible upside if the company IPOs

Very Biased Against Hiring Contractors Fulltime.

Pros

Fantastic product. There is is plenty of innovation at Bloom Energy. Fast pace working environment keeps the competent employees on their feet. Immediate co-workers were amazing in terms of being uplifting and understanding of when you need personal time off.

Cons

Still being a contractor when having a degree in engineering after two years employed at the company is abhorrent. There is a very large disparity of the treatment of contractors at Bloom Energy compared to the full time employees. Contractors rarely get invited to full time employee events such as break room dinners after all hands events and company picnics. It is also very difficult to move up in the company if you are a contractor regardless of engineering education background or years of employment to the company. There can be a lot more room for competency in upper management in regards to meeting end of quarter deadlines with most customer shipments always being delayed until the last few weeks of each quarter. I learned a lot at bloom and easily found a job offering 20K more a year than I was as a contractor at Bloom Energy.

Pros

Bloom Energy pay rates are very good, from the top down. Bloom energy cover 100% of Permanent employees benefits. Growth in the company is achievable Permanent Senior Engineers and upper management enjoy working for the company.

Cons

As the company grows pay rates and benefits are decreasing. 80+ hour Mon-Sun work weeks are at times demanded/ while at other times workers are laid off when work is minimal. Poor planning and organization equals very unstable schedules. Contractors make up a majority of the workforce and are treated poorly, told to work 12-14 hour days and are easily replaceable. Bloom Energy is behind in its planed progress.
