Pros

The benefits are simply outstanding and it's a company that doesn't put up with disrespecting peers, so it's a Stepford Wives vibe where everyone needs to buy into the system; stable employment and almost impossible to get fired (including a direct report -- with years of documented underperformance under several managers -- I was told I had to "manage up" rather than let go); then once managed up was told by my manager it's a shame this person now couldn't be let go. Strange place to work.

Cons

White-collar sweatshop where Mike and his cronies talk a great game about employees getting out and doing community service and having a quality of life and such but really don't; you're subjected to 10+ hour days (the unwritten rule) and pinged on weekends. Need to be a Cool Aid drinker to relish working there. Micromanagement is overboard. Antiquated work tools.

Pros

-Looks great on a resume

Cons

-You will be micro-managed -- you're boss knows if you've been away from your desk for more than 15 mins. Team leaders roles are just to micro manage -There is no career growth -There is no diversity at management levels. Entry level teams are diverse, but there are few women/POC in management roles. -Sales is an adult frat house. That is the culture Bloomberg promotes -The pay is terrible. You will be gaslight my HR/management when asking about raises/comp. In most cases, if you change roles within the company HR does not provide details about salary changes -TLDR, when I decided to leave the company I got 4 competiting offers all doubling my Bloomberg salary

Pros

Great benefits, and good work/life balance for most people (most have very little work to do and spend days in meetings and are able to leave at an early hour - a select few have a full plate). The Foundation does meaningful work. Bob hours (required and suggested volunteering opportunities) are really nice to have structure behind so that everyone chips in to help out.

Cons

VERY POLITICAL. The middle management and senior leadership have all been there for a prohibitively long time - I worked with some whom had never worked anywhere else in their 22+ year career. Although it is fantastic they have been able to move up the ladder, it also results in limited exposure and therefore stale ideas and archaic systems. It has also created hierarchy from politics vs skill. Some managers have been moved around to various teams, demoted over time but still empowered with some decision making that they are not qualified for due to this lack of exposure/experience. A coworker explained it as a place you do not go if you want to find a mentor or someone to aspire to in higher ranking. I will preface that I worked on the creative side and this is not what the company excels in. The creative and branding produced by LP studio is not portfolio-worthy in this field. They do have talented designers, but leadership is not qualified in creative focused output. The experience on the financial products side may be much stronger as this is what the company specializes in- I suggest checking Blind for insight. Be careful of political alliances internally as decisions will be made based on them vs efficiency or skills.
