Pros

Great work environment, learn a LOT about the markets, great culture and fellow employees

Cons

No commissions, you hit a ceiling at a certain point, market completely oversaturated with the product so really not many firms left to sell too. Completely dysfunctional sales operations where you're constantly tasked with creating reports that should be easily generated out of the CRM

Pros

Somewhere to work as a backup plan between jobs. Free toilet paper. Free snacks. Free training how to be a better Bloomberg employee.

Cons

Stacked ranking Stacked ranking destroys a culture. Period. Speaking teamwork is lipservic, but really there are no teams or in other words you are a team of one since stacked ranking. Best to the hard-working employees trapped there with no place else to go. B and C bosses, which means if you are an A player you will not be promoted as that would upend the B and C bosses. True or I couldn't say it.

Pros

World's top financial data/analytics/news company; very good pay and health/family benefits; classy corporate culture; diverse multilingual broad workforce of younger and older; generous work-related travel policy; great office space designed around food, snack, beverage hubs; business card or ID often good for discounts at local museums & culture spots

Cons

Work environment built on sustained success can't deal with failure and has regressed in crises past (e.g. 2001-02, 2008-09); company has known history of tolerating bad bosses; mood can turn unpleasant during these periods of financial upheaval.
