Pros

If you have absolutely no other choice. If McDonald's will not offer you a job. This place gives you free food and free prescription. They have a nurse that works there all the time. You have to wonder why they would need a full-time nurse.

Cons

Long long long hours. Managers that have no management skills. A lot of arrogant, and no goods to back it up. If you need to go to the doctors or dentist, you have to take a vacation day. I worked there for over a year and I have never seen more people wheeled out by the ambulance than any where else. People pass out of exhaustion from working there.

Pros

If you are early in your career and can sacrifice a year, the name will look great on your resume. Tons of unhealthy processed snacks & fruit

Cons

Every single moment is micromanaged from the moment you enter the building or log in to the terminal. This is not a company where you could be yourself. If you have a corporate background and are a by the book person you might do well here, but if you enjoy a healthy work environment where there is support and flexibility this is not the place for you. They have an open desk space and require you to come in the office 3 days a week. Employees are constantly getting COVID. Instead of doing something about this either changing the floor plan, alternating days to come in so theres never too many people in the office at the same time, they just believe "you'll get through it" words used by a manager here. Not to mention you will be expected to use your own laptop while you work from home. This company generating millions a day expects thier employees to use their own laptops for work. They believe its a privilege for you to work there and will treat you as such. If you want more than a company doing bare minimum for you, this is not the place for you.

Pros

They used to have good free food, now just has snacks. modern and beautiful offices. They also sponsored me from abroad to come work in DC.

Cons

Worked there for over 20 years and got PTSD in return. At age 70, wanted to retire in the next year or two and was hoping to do some sort of sunset plan. Instead, Bloomberg fired me and gave me a 8 hour notice to try to email all my friends, pack up all my things, and say goodbye to my colleagues. They basically used me for 20+ years and then decided they no longer want me and kicked me to the curb. The worst part, I realized my metro card (which refills in the beginning of the month every month) wasnt working that morning. Then when i got to work, i got pulled into HR's office. I was humiliated and couldn't even talk to my family about it. I wish they thought about the human behind the job. Instead of having a good retirement, it left me feelings hopeless and depressed. I ended up leaving the US, and know that my great experience in the US was all squashed because of the way Bloomberg treated me at the end of my career.
