Pros

Consultancy is interesting Remote working environment

Cons

Be cautious. This agency is essentially run by one person whose moods and expectations change frequently. She hired me for one role but quickly expects you to cover multiple subordinate positions, and if you can’t read her mind with the little communication she has with you, you risk being let go. I was contributing to SOPs, QC, and project work, but after being asked at 4:00 PM to jump on a same-day submission (I had a hard stop at 5 due to a religious family obligation and recommended we add late work to a SOP), her behavior turned hostile. Just two weeks earlier, I’d asked for feedback and was told I was doing a good job—only to be abruptly fired soon after. The lack of stability, transparency, and professional respect makes this a risky environment.

Would Never Work at Any Other Consulting Firm

Pros

I've worked at a few different companies and consulting firms, and I do not think I would ever find one with a better culture than this. If I were to ever leave this company, it would be to exit the industry completely. The top leadership of the company puts the well-being of its employees and the health of the team above all else. They are constantly discussing and monitoring the workload and professional development of all employees. The business has also been growing at an excellent pace and the extreme transparency that leadership provides into business performance gives me confidence that this growth will continue for years to come. The work is also very interesting. The projects that we work on are all highly strategic and dynamic. At all stages of my career here, I have been challenged in my work, while still having a strong support network. The benefits and perks are also excellent for a company of this size. But the best part of working for Blue Matter are the people. I look forward to coming in to work and seeing all my colleagues. I feel that I can be 100% myself at work.

Cons

There aren't many cons that I can think of. I actually think the workload is pretty good compared to other consulting firms. As a smaller firm, there will of course be certain perks that a large company can offer that we cannot. But given our size, I feel that our offerings are well above expectations.

Pros

- very people-focused consulting firm (plus, the people are amazing to work with) - focus is on strategy - opportunity to work in high-impact disease areas (oncology, rare diseases, etc.) - flat, non-hierarchical structure

Cons

- similar to all consulting jobs, there are times of high workload or higher stress. that being said, the team is very thoughtful about predicting and mitigating these times, and providing support if and when they do happen
