Pros

Engineering staff is excellent at some of the most talented people in the industry. Founding mission is wonderful. Pacific Northwest is a nice place to live, at least for me. So many programs have been built from scratch with little/no heritage so there were lots of incredible engineering challenges/opportunities.

Cons

Incompetent management at least during my time there and that might have changed with a new CEO coming over from Amazon but he sure has his work cut out for him. I saw it all from management mailing it in to trying to manufacture crises to get staff to put in ridiculous hours. At a certain point, it became obvious that we didn't have the competence at the top level to compete with other companies in the industry, especially the dominant watch provider and you probably know who I'm talking about. I also noticed some mid/upper level management cliques that would form. To me, it seemed like there was some prioritization of comfort (not feeling threatened) over uplifting the best talent to positions of influence.

Pros

Exciting and fun new space projects to work on

Cons

They are still figuring out their process and how to conduct business, so it’s a bit all over the place. Not staffed up enough to support new development programs.

Asking more, giving less

Pros

Pay is in-line with other space companies, scales go a bit higher but you will likely get lowballed. You do get to build spaceflight hardware, and work with cutting edge equipment. Time off is great- 4 weeks PTO, 14 holidays (6 fixed, 8 floating)

Cons

Blue is all about asking more and giving less. Every perk of working there is slowly fading away. Management is completely disconnected, senior management may as well be on another planet.
