      Still good team chemistry in a lot of places They have interesting Tech Focus Group presentations that everyone can attend Most immediate managers I've seen are pretty good

      Cons

      To get ahead, you have to be one of the in-crowd, and its largely something you can't change through your performance. You have to be liked by senior management. Management very eager to pull the trigger on layoffs right now. If you think you might get caught without a project, you better float your resume out on the web ASAP. There is an internal bias against picking up people from inside the firm for new positions which only puts ppl further at risk of layoff (easier and cheaper just to hire someone new than go to through career mobility).

      Most of the people are nice

      Retaliation is a huge problem despite the “0 tolerance policy” they tote The benefits are not good The pay is significantly less than competitors The firm does not look into contracts and management that have extremely high churn The toxic work culture is driven by folks who are not great at their jobs and got promoted due to time in the company and outlasting good guys that left You do not get promoted based on merit Despite HR telling you there are bonuses in your interview this is only true for Senior associates and above

      Health Care is decent, which is about it.

      Cons

      Within the first two months, I realized I made the worst mistake joining Booz Allen. The 401k - company only matches at year end, leaving before then you’ll lose your match. Top heavy, too many VP’s. All micromanagers. The culture is just a bunch of very angry people who work against one another rather than working as a team. Super political, people will smile at your face and spit on your name behind your back to make themselves look better. CEO only addresses the numbers, never addresses the staff for their hard work. Promotion within the company is “extremely difficult,” unless you threaten to quit or you’re favored. HR knows about the problem, but could literally care less.
