Pros

Geographic flexibility (facilities in midwest, northeast, Carolinas, southeast ,west coast, etc.), wide breadth of experience in 2 years, opportunity to work internationally. If you can network successfully, your opportunities become more plentiful.

Cons

You're at the mercy of available openings when it comes time to rotate into a new role. Pay is low relative to market. If you're in the marketing function, heavy favor is shown to those who begin the program and work primarily in power tools- better rotation options, and much better final placement options.

Pros

They take care of their employees - lots of education, opportunity, and learnings. Sometimes to a fault (eg, a lot of is forced on you) - but they really do want to keep employees for decades and invest in them. Also, there are very few limitations on moving. I watched people move from Automotive to Healthcare to Energy Projects. There's a lot of mobility (mostly sideways, but still interesting)

Cons

If you are not German - and I hate to say it, but, it's true - and Male, it's hard to get ahead. For all the lip service to diversity and equality, it was very clear there were two classes of workers - the folks that came over from Germany or were German nationals, and the rest of us. Getting a woman into a leadership position was almost impossible.
