      Growing faster than industry / Strong partner group Steep learning curve / Great on the job training Exposure to multiple industries and functions at senior management level Global perspective Meritocracy / Clear and well-developed career path

      Long working hours, sometimes need to work during weekend Frequent traveling (home Friday though), which might not be great for family Up or out culture

      Pros

      I've had phenomenal casework experience, the opportunity to make a real difference at organizations that needed the help. I manage incredibly talented teams and am constantly growing on the job.

      Cons

      Very demanding lifestyle, in hours work, in travel, in stress levels from the intensity and importance of the work. Casework experience has an element of luck in it - I've had almost unbelievable opportunities, but other people are far less excited about their cases.

      High visibility, work with top managers, rapid change of project, quick and deep insight of different businesses/issues/opportunities, understanding of the industries and companies, very smart people

      Cons

      Still pretty much local; you never decide - you suggest, with all the implications related to; WLB is not hell but at the same time is not really good
