Pros
The community of patients you serve deal with a lot of income inequality issues, so your work will be challenging though rewarding when you know you are giving help to people who, otherwise, have nowhere else to turn. A lot of staff, including physicians and nurses, have been working at BMC for YEARS. There may be some differences in approaches to things (mostly around technology), but they are also very committed to their work and it is obvious in all the best ways.
Cons
I was there when we changed to a new Electronic Medical Record system hospital-wide which added a new level of stress to everyone's work flow. There also doesn't seem to be much support in terms of professional development or growth if you're not a medical provider. Some people become bitter or hopeless after dealing with tough patient issues and situations.
