Pros

Good learning and growth opportuntities, solid opportunities for advancement if you are an outstanding performer. BSC has great products, and it is exciting to work on projects that can siginficantly contribute to company and industry growth.

Cons

Some employees are great performers but must wait for promotions based solely on years of experience vs. performance level. In addition, there is not much movement opportunity once the middle management level is reached, people tend to stay with the company for a long while.

Pros

Everyone are friendly and supportive. I would say that the job is very competitive and gave me an opportunity to learn and think beyond my capabilities.

Cons

Differences between departments. I have a noticed a great communication gap between different departments. Human resources is not at all helpful and I am seriously surprised by the way they treat newly graduated students from average schools.

Pros

Great training, great people, good benefits. People want to do the right thing (related to products). Opportunities to learn. Makes life-saving products. Healthy sense of urgency, most of the time.

Cons

Recognition is hap-hazard. Regulations are exacerbated by company's interpretations of them, making work / progress slow. Management has focused too much on iterating and been slow to deliver new things (i.e. a "me-too" company). The healthy sense of urgency often makes it feel really busy. But, honestly, I've rarely worked over 50 hours/wk, and even then, I probably could have gotten by just fine with less.
