Pros

It is a great place to get experience in the medical devices industry on the research side, or in manufacturing on the production side.

Cons

Many employees aren't motivated to work hard, upper management is often too involved in the day-to day operations of the business resulting in little authority at lower levels. Furthermore, advancement is unpredictable, and it seems like there is no distinct path for career progression.

Pros

Investment in employee training, competitive benefits, stable industry insulated from consumer demand.

Cons

Culture varies by department; some areas are pretty cut-throat. BSC is a large company known for operational excellence and efficiency, not for being on lists of great places to work.

Pros

Medical Device industry truly is a great industry to work in compared to other industries outside of health care. There are those who frame med tech companies differently, but it is truly a great industry to work in, knowing that you are contributing toward building products that extend people's lives and improve people's quality of life. Boston Scientific is a diversified medical device play that have strong products in many therapies. It is a large, international companies. If you are aggressive, you will get opportunity to work in a variety of job functions and maybe even different geographies. If you're not aggressive, it may be a good pay check play as long as you look busy.

Cons

Boston Scientific is a very large company, it has made a number of acquisitions in the past years. The culture and systems within the different parts of the company are still not well integrated. Depending on which business unit you work for, you may have a vastly different experience. The bureaucracy and inefficient processes make the company feel like an even bigger company than it really is. Many support functions are poor and take a long time to respond (HR, IT, Legal). Being a large company, many parts of the function also tend to be political and defensive - not the greatest when it comes to driving innovation for new products.
