Pros

Wonderful family like tightly knit group of extremely motivated and supportive co-workers. Really is an "unlimited earning potential" type of job You get paid minimum wage plus commission so you don't go broke during winter. Unusual in the car business. Training program is absolutely the best program on the face of the earth! You get to drive some seriously cool cars Learn about your brand in great detail

Cons

Dealership/Car Sales Person stigma is still alive and well. Be prepared to face brutal/frequent and extremely rude defensive customers on a daily basis. Long LONG hours that only get worse when you move into the internet sales team Turnover is extremely high, so it's difficult to get to know co-workers. I was lucky, my store had the lowest turnover of 15 stores. Still very high, during training there were 25 brand new people, by the end of the year, I was the only one left, everyone else quit. Winter (especially where it snows) is when nobody buys cars. Seriously, none of us sold a single car in February. BE PREPARED TO NOT MAKE MONEY IN WINTER "Old School" approach to marketing and sales process. Management will resort to lying to its employees if you're the type of person who's "too honest to customers". They'd tell me things all the time like "oh that doesn't matter" or "you don't need to worry about the details" They would intentionally withhold the truth from me so I didn't have to "lie to my customer" except I was!!!! I was furious and very hurt when after a year and countless 12 hour days with these people that they would lie to me and my customers in order to make a sale. I could go on and on. to sum it up. If you LOVE LOVE LOVE sales, go for it! If you LOVE LOVE LOVE an extreme challenge, go for it! If you literally cannot find any other job, go for it! If you have skin made of steel, go for it! If you can deal with BS for 5 years before you get put on the internet team (btw internet team = more leads = more potential sales = more sales = more money) then go for it. If you can deal with seeing the worst get brought out in people every day for 60 plus hours a week, go for it!

Pros

A lot of inventory to pick from Great lenders work with finance Shout out to finance team at Chevrolet Waukesha you are the ones that get the job done.

Cons

If you expect to work 40 hours go get a different job. If you expect to work 50 hours go get a different job. If you expect to put in at least 55 hours a week you have found the correct company... Or have you Don't expect Managment to take your deal ahead of a "veteran" or even their personal lunch to let the dog out or have a mid-day cocktail. If you so much as "UP" a customer a "veteran" said hi to 25 years ago be ready to be called a snake/skate/thief. If you think that your going to make money in your first six months, either open a credit or win the lottery. 95% of your deals are a mini ($150). And the ones that had gross start deducting it when the managers B.S the ACV of a trade or don't you forget the pack because God knows the executives need more money. If you have been with the company 10,15,20,30 years you are now allowed to threaten customers/ employees and no action will be taken against you. If you had a criminal charge from 20 years ago and you did your time be ready by day three the entire dealership knows even though that is confidential and by law is not to be discussed. By god don't you forget to track your hours they like to forget to pay you that 10 hours or 20 hours of overtime. (Only applies to hourly employees) If you expect a salary, keep dreaming you get $400 on the 5th and the 25th, this sis draw. You have no choice in accepting the draw, so they claim. If you don't know what draw is, money in which is advanced to you witch is to be paid back in full on a larger check that exceeds $800. If you need a trade evaluated be sure you have a commitment on the customers end otherwise expect to be picking your paper off the floor while the used car manager cusses you out and tells you he is too busy. When in reality he wants to go cook a meal or smoke or be gone for an hour for no reason. And finally please understand there are about 4 employees that get house/spoon/manager deals, this is why that do 15-20 cars a month not because that are good at what they do it's because the manager has them tied around their little finger and will be ready to pounce when told to because all they are is a bunch of no good, sleazy, lazy, rotten car sales people. Do not expect a glamour filled life you don't own your life they do.

Pros

Great potential to make good money, great managment and staff. Always learning something new, and applying that knowledge on a everyday basis.

Cons

Very long hours at times, you have to be very flexible with your schedule because things will come up that you can't control sometimes.
