Pros

- Many of the people that have been there a while are great to work with. - Relatively remote/WFH friendly - Decent work life balance

Cons

- No longer offers competitive benefits, snacks are not as good and no longer lunch - Micromanagement and distrust of engineers from middle and upper management - Corporate Politics are the same as PayPal but more amplified because of team sizes - Stack ranking for annual performance

Pros

Good working collaborative culture compared to PayPal

Cons

1. No major product roadmap innovation . Only incremental innovation done for key strategic merchants. Minimal investment especially in Asia Pacific and other markets other than USA. No new local payment methods in APAC and local acquiring. 2. Losing market share to Adyen for enterprise and Stripe for mid market as these competitors continue to innovate and market their payment platform. 3. The two original founders of Braintree have left the company. 4. There is a competing new PayPal platform for unbranded payments for Credit cards which is separately developed by PayPal product teams and hence challenging the Braintree platform. 5. Braintree pricing team does not understand the market and approves pricing based on margins only. This leads to lost sales deals.
