Pros

Competitive pay, they had a great HR department who took care of all of my needs, they also paid a bonus upon the completion of my position

Cons

There were very vague expectations for weekend work. I was orignally told that some weekend work may be required. This turned into every weekend, and I was soon getting guilt trips about working. Pretty unprofessional.

Progressive construction materials testing firm with family/community focus

Pros

Reward job performance, not just seniority. Family-centered benefits. Emphasis on community involvement. Well integrated into the construction industry. Wide range of technical expertise in-house, including environmental, drilling, analytical laboratory, construction material testing.

Cons

Could use more current technology i.e. mapping and GIS. Reputation not known outside of Minnesota. Like many multi-specialty firms, getting different department to communicate effectively is an ongoing challenge.
