Pros

Working with MRDD was very rewarding. The consumers become your extended family. They look for you and ask when they will see you again. You grow to love them and will get attached. When you see them smile and progress on things you have worked with them on it is a feeling money can't buy.

Cons

You will not be compensated for your long term employment with this company. People that still work their make pennies above minimum wage after being there 10+years. If you call off, you better have a Dr.'s excuse and even that sometimes will not suffice. I would not recommend this job as a long term career field or to anyone I love. The friction with management was unbearable at times. If you happen to get hurt on the job, your days are numbered too. Unfortunately, they will always have a high turnover because of the lack of respect and appreciation for their employees. The saddest part is that it ultimately affects the consumers in my opinion. Also, you may get mandated as you are at the time clock getting ready to leave for your shift, not good if you have children, plans, or other obligations.

Pros

The clientele are the best and only good thing about this company, you'll fall in love with them & many people stay only to attempt to advocate for the clients

Cons

No raises, poor management. Even though it's a Worldwide company it's managed as if it's new & unsure. The employees are treated poorly & as if they are owned by the company, mandatory force-overs daily secondary to poor treatment of staff & incompetent home managers. Rules change daily depending on who your talking to. No appreciation for work well done. The company mission statement is wonderful! But a lie & is not practiced, the clients aren't even in the top 10 of most important day-to-day. Poorly run, poorly managed site to site.

Pros

Nice to know you're helping someone on a daily basis, I love my clients and its a very rewarding job to have. If you're looking for an average job from 9am to 5pm this is a great choice

Cons

Stressful work environment, they are a kentucky based company so do not expect any raises. Be prepared to handle a high amount of stress and making decisions that can directly effect people in a negative way.
