Pros

Global company with a long history of working in the Workforce Development industry.

Cons

Over 65% of its revenues in its workforce services division comes from government contracts and although the charge millions of dollars for their services, they do no share that financial success with its frontline staff that earn those monies under intense pressures.

Pros

The consumers that I was there for to support are amazing people and touched my lives in so many ways. They were such a big part in my life that I continued to deal with the lack of support and other issues because I was afraid if I left the senior management wouldn't make sure they continued to get quality care.

Cons

ResCare is a company that in the 5 years I worked there became more concerned with their budget and profit margin and less about their clients and employees every quarter. I worked my way up through the company within my first year there and within the second year was in management. ResCare pays its employees minimum wage and schedules some of them to work over 80 hrs a week every week without ever thinking twice. If you are looking for a company to progress through and increase your pay that is not an option at ResCare in my 5 years I got introduced to five different directors 3 in the same year. Each time bringing in a less qualified person at a lower salary. This is the same for every management position. ResCare would move clients out of homes people had lived in for 10 or more years because they could get someone to move in their but not the home that they had a vacant bed in costing them money. ResCare does not excuse you from work even if you provide a Dr's statement stating you wee sick and had to miss work. Your co-workers are there today and gone tomorrow. When I started in my area our company had just been bought from ResCare in the years since I can not even believe some of the things I had to watch happen and watch management just ignore.

Pros

The work is rewarding, and you can make friends among staff. Some shifts are better than others. Great learning experience.

Cons

Pay is terrible. Hours are ridiculous, they can mandate you to stay if the next person calls off regardless to if you have children, another job, or doctors appointments. Have threatened to not approve time off based on if state has been through to inspect(which is against the union contact). They also change your chores to suit their favorite staff.
