Pros

-Most people who work for the company are genuinely nice, caring people and are pleasant to work with. -Most clients are just as nice and are fun to get to know. -It's a job.

Cons

-Nepotism in hiring, nepotism in scheduling, nepotism in payroll, nepotism in treatment of employees. -Large corporate structure guarantees that no matter what your grievance, no one will care. Unless an outside agency (i.e. Office of Recipient Rights) gets involved. -Employees haven't received raises in over five years; some recently received an insulting $60 check bearing the message, "Thanks for all you do." -Direct care staff are expected to accept the same near-minimum wage regardless of how much extra work is expected of them; homes with total care clients (those that are dependent on staff for all activities of daily living) are paid the same as those with as few as one or two clients who require the most minimal of assistance (such as cleaning) -Refusal to offer benefits to same-sex spouses (specifically targets "spouses under federal, not state law" in benefits materials)

Pros

Regular traditional work hours. Benefits available for those who chose to participate. Overtime was minimal and not usually required. Participation in special in house projects were often available.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for advancement. Contract work. Job title was changed and work assignments were changed when management felt it that they needed help somewhere else. Therefore, you can apply for a specific position but the person will not usually stay in that postion.

Pros

For me, working here has allowed me to do what I know best. I love transitioning people from lack luster lives with not future into responsible adults with a career plan.

Cons

Poor communication, last minute deadlines, punitive correspondence and repetitive monitoring that is unrelated to programmatic goals.
