Pros

Some of the people here are really good and helpful, but you have to hunt and find for those contacts in each department by trial and error when you need help.

Cons

There is no formal training so it is a learn-as-you-go environment, and you simply don't know what you don't know until someone asks you why you haven't done it (surprise!). As a result, no two employees pull the same data in the same fashion and can be a different format each time. Upper management/board of directors is very sales driven, they don't seem to care about offering benefits or appreciation to their employees. I hear stories all the time of employees being told it is expected and necessary that they come in on the weekend or their vacation if the CFO wants a new report by Monday at 8am, etc. There is no formal review process, all 'goals' you make up yourself and can change throughout the year, so there is nothing you are ever held accountable to. All employees tend to complain, gossip, and have an 'us' vs. 'them' mentality across the departments, as well as no ownership to help people with issues. Not much opportunity for growth or advancement. The upper levels have all been around for years and some should really be let go, but they are all friends so it is just easier to blame the lower employees in the department or the people they don't like, and then never fix the problem. The company has grown a LOT with acquisitions, but they still operate as if a much smaller corporation, focusing on tiny things that don't matter and all around micro-managing all the operations. The systems and programs are all disconnected and very outdated (you would think such a big company would have all the data you need to access in only a few good programs). All departments use different programs so when you have a question about something you are seeing different data then they are. You don't have access to all the systems you may need information from, and if you request help you may never hear back or only be given the data you need on that departments' time.....
