Pros

note: I left in 2018 (app only allows from 2020 forward) Ijoined Broadcom when my prior company was acquired. was there for just under a year. Pros include being a flat org with few management levels. Direct management was generally hands-off about allowing me to manage my business. Compensation was good but not notably better than my prior employers in the SF Bay Area. I genuinely enjoyed the people I worked for & with.

Cons

Cons include an absolute no WFH policy which was compounded by rampant scheduling of non-critical mtgs well after traditional work hours (I found this disrespectful of employees' non-work obligations, and ultimately this was my reason for leaving). Acquisition/onboarding processes seemed very seat-of-the-pants for a company that does this often. Seemed to be a culture that valued efficiency via aggressive slashing of established processes and headcount, without first understanding the impact. Had more than a few occasions where processes were abruptly cancelled, only to be rebuilt from scratch a few months down the road when their absence made their value more apparent. Also, the company in general did not appear to value investment in data/analytic tools. In sum, it's a company that seems to value staying lean and aggressively cutting loose anything w/o obvious and immediate value. Nothing inherently wrong with this approach, but not taking the time to assess value up front created plenty of inefficiency when the same processes had to be recreated from scratch months down the road.
