Pros

exposure to emerging technologies, if you get into the right team at the right time the opportunities do exist learning to do a lot more with much less there are some very dedicated people at this company, mature and experienced, first line and middle management are very skilled technically the range of products this company produces could be enough to keep the right person busy for an entire lifespan

Cons

if you aren't clique, you're stuck, with poor career advancement programs, you can find yourself unable to succeed there is a contingent of non-technical upper management who are almost completely out of touch with the real and every day requirements of getting the products ready for the market small company mindset is a large problem, but the paranoia element is pervasive

Pros

Broadcom benefits from having a great collection of skilled engineers, with very little dead weight. This means that you find yourself working with talented people, who for the most part are enjoying their own work. It pays well, offers good benefits, and while it doesnt always succeed, it certainly tries to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, I find Broadcom to be a very much empowered company, where I certainly spend my time working constructively on the job I was hired to do, and dont find myself in endless meetings, or held up with endless and unnecessary beurocracy. Lots of little 'extras' help keep the staff happy.

Cons

Like most tech companies, there can be long hours that go with the rewards, most notably around product tapeouts and delivery.
