They pay well and that's it

Pros

Pays well, both base salary & stock

Cons

Everything else. The CEO doesn't care at all about his employees. He pays well so he doesn't need to do anything else to make your life better. Unlimited time off is a joke. You're expected to be in the office 5 days a week because Hock Tan states he's creating a culture. It's a cut throat culture where most employees are miserable.

Pros

Generous RSUs each quarter Team goals for sales commission, predictable SIP Management is not afraid to tell the customer no, and go into a legal battle with them

Cons

Not a technology company, there's no innovation, lots of divesting in R&D and business units. They are a license renewals and procurement company. They only talk to customers every 3 or 5 years when the ELA comes up. They hold customers hostage. Constantly laying people off, thousands at a time and not sure how they get away with not announcing or reporting to US regulators like other corporations have to. Creates a super toxic environment inside the company and they destroy every company they acquire. People who stay there long term have sold their soul for the RSU pay day. They are heavily medicated if they believe they are actually helping a customer or contributing to innovation.

Bad management

Pros

Great salary because of the equity

Cons

Management is very bad, I and others had issues with sexism, racism, you know name it. Little to no meritocracy and a lot of petty office politics The work-life balance is also awful and there's no hybrid/remote work except for rare exceptions for management, one of many double standards. No culture; the company is very cheap when it comes to ERGs or even basic amenities
