Great company to work for (before Avago acquisition)

Pros

This review is for Broadcom before the Avago acquisition. BRCM has been a great place to work. People are generally helpful. Good work/life balance. Great medical benefits. Good pay.

Cons

Now that we have been bought by Avago, the morale is very low. With so much uncertainty, people are losing their motivation. Everyday there is a new rumor. We are not looking forward to the deal closing and the new management. I do not recommend BRCM to anyone now because of the M&A. Up until now, BRCM has been a good company to work for.

Pros

if you're into the stock market, the model performs

Cons

sales organization led by someone that's never carried a bag. first thing they did was get off salesforce, sell corporate hq, and move to nearly free tools to save money and drive employees away to cut costs. if you value work culture, avoid.

Pros

Better RSUs than CA and the stock price keeps going up Bonus program good for Senior+ Great if you don't like innovation and enjoy boring technology with easy renewals Withstands economic downturns because of size Somewhat tolerable if you have a good boss

Cons

No remote work they want you in the office daily even during the pandemic and try to scare you into taking unapproved, experimental medicine No raises AGAIN but new employees get great salaries and RSUs that will trump yours by triple or more. Cant imagine what the directors+ make compared to my crumbs. Salaries for acquired employees not in line with the market period! Only way to get more money is leaving Constant bean counting and spreadsheets tracking your every move wastes so much time. Execs rule by fear Promotions are capped so it's almost impossible unless you connected with the IBM boy's club
