Pros

You'll learn a lot about sales here You're encouraged to take clients out & give them a good experience

Cons

- Unlivable base salary (Can't stress this enough. If you have student loans or pay car insurance, you will not be able to live within your means) - Passive aggressive & authoritarian leadership, feels like you're in a bad relationship - Commission percentages are no longer competitive (slashed) - Micromanagement - Can't speak transparently without running the risk of termination - Weekly surveys that you have to lie to because you can't say you had a tough week ^^ - Favoritism - Leadership will pick who calls on the 10-year top-producing account and who calls on 2 ice-cold accounts in the middle of a recession. If you're not a favorite, expect the latter! - Full of gossip and bad mouthing behind people's backs, office culture is fine on the outside but toxic & cliqued on the inside - Brooksource tries to compete with big-4 integrators but is by no means set up to do so. - some coworkers look at you funny when you don't hang out with coworkers on weekends (can't have your own friends I guess) - When you take over a warm account you're stuck managing all of the past contractors, can be 1 to 100, doesn't matter though because you'll never be compensated for supporting them even if it takes 40 hours a week - If this is your first job after college, you only find out how problematic Brooksource is when you finally quit. They make it seem like everything is so much worse when it's quite the opposite

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. All leadership positions are hired from within which means that our leadership has personal experience in the positions that they oversee. Usually, this opens the door for thoughtful leadership and mentoring, but the scenario you have described does NOT align with the culture we want to create. We are deeply disappointed to hear that you had such a negative experience at Brooksource. Would you be willing to contact us at success@eightelevengroup.com so that we can learn more, as we are always striving to better ourselves?

Pros

- Young Coworkers: Energetic and vibrant team. - Brand New Office: Modern and up-to-date facilities. - Fun Work Environment: Enjoyable and lively atmosphere. - Social Events: Regular parties and social gatherings.

Cons

I want to emphasize that this is based on my personal experience and the specific team I was part of. I acknowledge that there are many great employees and leaders within the company, but unfortunately, none of them were associated with my role. - Empty Promises on Job Security: Despite assurances of "no layoffs," I was abruptly let go due to the elimination of my role. - Lack of Professional Development: No opportunities for career growth or skill enhancement. - Limited Financial Growth: If you're not in a revenue-generating role, there's no financial or career advancement. - Hypocrisy in Culture: They preach "family," yet treat employees as disposable. - Poor HR Support: HR was absent during my layoff, leaving me without guidance on benefits. I had to reach out for information. - Ineffective Management: Leadership was clueless about my role for the entire 2 years I was there, ultimately leading to my layoff due to lack of initiative to define a career path for me. - No Compensation Increases: No rewards or raises despite increased responsibilities. In two years, I only received a 2% annual salary increase. - Absence of Performance Reviews: No annual or quarterly performance reviews. I had to request feedback, which I rarely received. - No Support for Promotions: The focus is on keeping salaries as low as possible, with no support for growth. - Lack of Feedback: Feedback, whether positive or negative, was rarely given, even when requested. - Ineffective Meetings: Goal sessions and weekly 1-on-1s were unproductive. - Unqualified Leaders: Leadership roles were often assigned based on tenure rather than skills. - Unethical Leadership: Leadership prioritizes their own interests over employee well-being. - No Exit Interviews: Over 20 employees left during my tenure, and none received exit interviews. The company showed no interest in learning from their departures. - Poor Communication: Leadership and management often avoided answering questions, leading to a lack of clear communication. - Greedy Culture: A culture driven by greed and self-interest.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and honest feedback! Although, we are disappointed to hear that it was a negative one. Culture is everything here at Brooksource, which is why we strive to create a welcoming environment where all our employees feel empowered to be the best. We say “strive” because as you have mentioned, our work is far from finished. Cultural changes do take time, and we believe we are taking the right steps. This includes the creation of our employee-led connection groups, joined together based on common backgrounds, identities, or interests to provide a safe space for conversation and development. We have also expanded our benefits to include mental wellness coverage, additional PTO, and parental leave for all employees, as well as tuition assistance for those who qualify. These are just some of our latest enhancements to our internal culture! As we continue to grow, so will the type of support and assistance we provide to our employees, consultants, and clients. Thank you again for your feedback, as it is reviews like this that help us better align our plans for the future with the needs of our internal employees!
